BULLSHIT #7
SPIDER ARCHAEOLOGISTS WILL SAY:
That there was, after the dinosaurs and before the spiders, an age of the monkeys, who destroyed themselves for their incapacity to fully understand trade or money.
WHAT IS MONEY AFTER ALL?
Money is an idea. Money is a communication tool, just like
any other noise we make, that help us execute trade the way we understand it,
and there lays the problem
WHAT IS TRADE?
Trade is the agreement of the minds of the transacting
HUMANS.
WHAT DO WE TRADE ABOUT?
Mostly things and some services
Where is the Apple represented when we trade Apples?
All things we trade are part
of our environment but when we trade them only the will of the seller and the
will of the buyer are represented and then translated into the amount of money exchanged for the goods.
Evidently if only what
matters to me and you is taken care on all our trades, we will rob the apple
tree.
But there may be another way.
Imagine that things are sold for the amount of money that buyer and seller
agree, plus the amount of money needed to repair nature so it can produce more
of the same traded good.
Some regulations do that but
I don’t think regulations are the way. What is sure is that we are selling
important things like oil to a cash depleted humanity that can barely pay around $100 per barrel.
If I give you $1000 per
barre, will that be enough to cover your costs to repair nature to its state
before the oil was produced? From oil field to plastic bags on the ocean, what
is the real price of oil? How much trade deficit can the biosphere take?
PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS:
What about a possible better chance of stretching our 15 minutes of glory on the book of evolution?
